Fermi Bohigas - Spain
NV Cava Brut Reserva
Situated in the River Anoia valley, Can Macià is the historical name of the estate where the Bohigas wine cellar and vineyards have always been. Here, in Can Macià, the family have, for over four centuries, maintained the wine growing tradition . On over 60 hectares of level land at a reasonable altitude and watered by the River Anoia they grow the varieties of grape: Macabeo, Xarel.lo, Parellada and Chardonnay. By carrying out the wine making process on their own estate Bohigas can offer you the fine Cavas that they are renowned for. Made from 48% Macabeo, 22% Xarel-lo, and 27% Parellada. The wine is pale yellow with greenish streaks. It has fine small bubbles with good development that slowly form rosaries. It carries clean and forward aromas of pleasant fruit and flowers. Overall this is elegant, fresh and fruity with a marked presence of ripe apple and fruit syrup. The sparkle is well developed and the aftertaste is long and delicate. This is ideal as an aperitif. Suitable with shellfish and seafood, rice and pasta dishes, white meats, and desserts.
Treveri Cellars - Yakima, Washington
NV Blanc de Blanc Brut Columbia Valley
Treveri's own German born owner and winemaker, Juergen Grieb, is from the town of Trier, Germany and has a degree in both winemaking and sparkling winemaking. Trier was the home of Roman Emperor Constantine who moved the seat of the empire for a short time from Rome to Trier in the 300’s. As a result of that era, there are many Roman ruins in the city that include the Dome church, the Basilica (throne room), remains of Roman baths and the Roman Amphitheatre. Augusta Treverorum was the Roman name for Trier, which was later changed to Treveris. The winery, Treveri Cellars, is a take on the name Treveris in honor of their winemakers roots. Juergen hand selects the vineyards and grapes that are used to produce their varietal sparkling wines. Each bottle is handcrafted at Treveri's Yakima location in the Méthode Champenoise (bottle fermented) method using great care and attention. This handcrafted method produces some of the best sparkling wines you’ve ever tasted. Fresh, complex, yeasty and varietal, each bottle is a wonderfully unique experience! Treveri's classic Brut is made from 100% Columbia Valley Chardonnay. Smooth, complex and crisp, the Treveri Brut demands indulgence and brings clear perspective to your moment. The fresh and dry finish enhances this bubbly, and brings luxury to any occasion. Sugar content is 14 grams per liter.
