Football Loves Wine

The start of fall signals the start of the NFL season. What many people don't know is that a plethora of former NFL players and coaches have also started their own wineries!

What does a retired jock know about winemaking? Probably not enough, which is why these pros have drafted experienced winemakers to their teams. The biggest up and comer is Passing Time, fronted by former quarterbacks Damon Huard and Dan Marino. Passing Time is located in Woodinville, Washington, just a few blocks away from Cellars Wine Club! Huard and Marino scouted out acclaimed wine maker Chris Peterson, hiring him away from Washington favorite DeLille Cellars.

Other NFL players with wineries include: Drew Bledsoe, Charles Woodson, Joe Montana, and Mike Ditka along with legendary NFL coach Dick Vermeil.
